Usains Biomics Participates in STEM Discovery 2025 at SK Balik Pulau
Pulau Pinang, 9th September 2025 – USAINS Biomics Laboratory Testing Services Sdn. Bhd. proudly took part in the STEM Discovery 2025 program organized at SK Balik Pulau, aimed at igniting scientific curiosity and fostering hands-on learning among primary school students.
The event, jointly organized by Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), the USAINS Group of Companies, and other strategic partners, featured a variety of STEM-related activities and exhibitions designed to expose students to real-world applications of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Our team from Usains Biomics conducted an engaging “EcoRepel: DIY Mosquito Lotion” workshop, designed primarily to introduce students to the scientific processes involved in developing a natural mosquito repellent. Through this hands-on session, participants gained insights into the basic principles of formulation, ingredient selection, and how everyday science can be applied to create practical and sustainable products.
Following the session, we also hosted a booth during the STEM exhibition activities, where students had the opportunity to use basic laboratory measuring glassware, learn about the process of producing natural mosquito repellent lotion, and engage with our team on topics related to chemistry and environmental science.
The response from the students was overwhelmingly positive, with many showing great enthusiasm and curiosity about science and hands-on learning. Our participation underscores our commitment to supporting education and community outreach as part of our corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts.
